Boy Meets Girl

Us at Chiques Park - January 2001We met freshman year of college. Alyssa was dating Keith's then-roommate and they became friends. Relationship with the roommate broke up over Summer 2000, but Keith and Alyssa remained close. Eventually, they took a liking to each other and thought that maybe the other would be interested in dating. Alyssa finally took a risk and asked Keith out on September 3, 2000 when he was complaining about his love life. Keith enthusastically accepted...and it turns out he had had a crush on Alyssa all along, even when she was dating his roommate. The rest is history...

The Proposal

June 19, 2003

Alyssa came out to her car on June 19th, 2003 following a typical day at work, when she noticed a red rose in the back window of her car. Thinking that it was not her car, she went to glance in the front area of the car and saw the whole car was covered in red, white, and pink roses. A card was sitting in the front driver's seat. Bewildered, Alyssa opened the card, and looked up only to see Keith fly by in his car snapping photos. Alyssa called her co-workers out to see the car, and then looked at the instructions in her glove compartment to see that she was to meet Keith at the Avalon Restaurant in West Chester, PA for dinner by 7:15.

Finally, Alyssa left the mall and flew home to get changed. (She saw Keith stationed at several points along the way, staking out her position.) Alyssa came home, emptied out the car (there were 3 dozen roses total, all in little bulb vases) and found a pound of chocolate covered strawberries waiting for her inside. Finally, around 7:20, Alyssa made it to the restaurant where Keith was waiting with sparkling wine. Before dinner was ordered, Keith got down on one knee and popped the big question while presenting her with a beautifully filigreed Edwardian antique platinum and rose-cut diamond ring. Alyssa began happily crying and said yes! They had a wonderful long dinner together afterwards and broke the happy news to their family and friends via telephone afterwards.
