Various Homes Around the Web

Besides this site, there are several other places on the web where I live:

Myspace (2005 - 2007 )
My current personal blog and friend network on MySpace. I don't really go here to update things much anymore--I find the setup kind of annoying and prefer Facebook.

Facebook (2005 - )
The BU Facebook is a place for students (and affiliated staff and faculty) to link up to each other and meet through a social network. In the beginning, my "friends" were student workers of mine (who love me dearly). Now there's more of a mix ranging from fellow F&M alums to people I hang out with on a regular basis. (requires being a member of Facebook)

LiveJournal (2004)
Not a whole lot here, but I used LiveJournal a little back in 2004.

Alyssa's Page (1998 - 2001)
My old page, for humor and historical purposes only. Keith finds the whole thing rather funny, but in all honesty, I was programming HTML before him.  He has long since surpassed me.

PLACES of Work

Boston University, Office of Housing (2004 - 2006)

Harvard Business School, Faculty Support, OB Unit (October 2006 – present)

Bedford High School - Bedford, Pennsylvania (1995 - 1998)

S:t Eskils Skola Gymnasium - Eskilstuna, Sweden (1998 - 1999)

Franklin & Marshall College - Lancaster, Pennsylvania (1999 - 2003)

Boston University, School of Education - Boston, Massachusetts (2004 - 2006)

Favorite Things and Places in Boston

Here are a few of my favorite places in Boston that you can check out. I will add more to this as time goes on, but by and large they are really great places Keith, our friends, and I like to go to eat and drink.

Konditor Meister
The South Shore's best bakery and nationally famous as it won "The Today Show Throws a Wedding" cake contest in 2000. I always try to pick up a cake from here for any of my parties.

Legal Sea Foods
There are a few of these around the Boston area. A person can simply live on their chowder, by the way.

Temple Bar
This is a great little place in Cambridge between Harvard Square and Porter Square. It is kind of funky and swank, and their food and cocktails are fantastic.

Quincy Dynasty
Worth it alone to visit Quincy. The best Chinese food in the Boston area, hands down (and fairly cheap). We used to live within delivery range of this place, but now we have to settle for the occasional pilgrimage.

Harry's Bar and Grill
Literally only stumbling distance from our former abode on Kelton Street, it is a very cool little pub that is definitely a notch or two above the student-filled dives here in Allston/Brighton. We have not had any bad food here, and everything is cheap. Some of the very best wings ever.

Sunset Grill & Tap
Another local Allston haunt. The food is great, its fairly close and (what Keith absolutely loves) there are 112 beers on tap and hundreds of bottled offerings. I like getting Kopparberg's Cider when we go (which is one of the only places I've been able to find it outside of Sweden). It's sister restuarant is located across the street from my former workplace at BU Housing, and is known for its margaritas and tequillas.

Bottega Florentina
I discovered this corner store in my old Lenscrafters days, when I worked just around the corner in Coolidge Corner. They import wonderful Italian delicacies, cure their own cheese, bake their own bread, and slice the vegetables as they make your sandwich. Yummy!

J.P. Licks
This is a chain in Boston that makes wonderful ice cream. The two closest to us are two doors down from Bottega Florentina and at the Hillel House at Boston University.

Paper Source
My only non-food-related haunt in Boston. This exquisite store sells handmade paper, beautiful stationery, and tons of craft related items. I personally managed to support them when preparing for my wedding, as I bought all the materials for favor bags, programs, menus, escort cards, and invitation related items there.

Brown Sugar Cafe
This is the only Thai restaurant I will eat at. Their food is awesome, my favorite being the cashew chicken which is mixed with pineapple. Dangerously enough, it is a mere three blocks from our home at 65 Ashford Street.
