Educated young professional will transition from current support role to a program coordinator and student advisory position at a college international affairs office and/or study abroad program as the start of a long and successful career in this area. The ideal position will expand upon the candidate's existing international experience and allow for close collaboration with students, faculty, and other administrators to encourage students to expand their educational practices to the undertaking of a semester or year long exchange. Possesses a wide range of skills including:

  • Experience in Student Affairs, College Relations and Fundraising, Student Activities, and Event Planning
  • Over 6 years experience in developing communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills in a variety of office and retail positions; has worked at Boston University and Harvard Business School in the past few years
  • Computing skills in Windows and Macintosh (OS 8-10) environments, Microsoft Office, Macromedia Contribute, and basic HTML programming with willingness and ability to learn new protocols
  • International experience and strong foreign language competency in Swedish and German; strong enthusiasm for cultural learning and language acquisition

Faculty Assistant, Organizational Behavior, Harvard Business School, Oct 2006 – Present Provides high-level administrative support to further the missions of teaching and research for 2-3 faculty members.  Closely assists with syllabus and course preparations, article research, reimbursement submission and tracking, travel arrangements, schedule tracking, and answering questions for students and visitors.  Immediately upon hire, took over duties as administrative coordinator for Unit faculty recruitment--overseeing confidential academic credentials, correspondence, and memoranda, organizing official agenda for hiring candidates’ visits, organizing job talk seminars, and compiling of an affirmative action report as required by federal law.  Also served as staff representative for the Faculty Assistant Task Force to relay staff concerns and questions to the Program Coordinator and Assistant Director of the Division of Faculty and Research for redress.

Assignments Coordinator, Housing, Boston University, July 2004 - July 2006
Organized over 6,500 female undergraduate housing assignments and hundreds of housing changes each year for Boston University, which has the 10th largest undergraduate housing system in the United States. Maintains electronic and paper records of assignments, requests and official mailings, including confidential documentation. Interfaces with students, parents, and the Office of Residence Life on a regular basis to troubleshoot problems, facilitate communication, and enforce university protocols.

Temporary Staff, PSG & Spherion, Dec 2003 - July 2004
Gained valuable experience in many of Boston’s top workplaces assisting permanent staff with reception coverage, office support, and organizational projects further enhancing skill sets and experience in both for-profit and non-profit environments. Worked long-term at Harvard Law School arranging housing and providing program assistance for the Program for Instruction of Lawyers in March to July 2004.
