After having a quick lunch at the Castle's cafe followed by Alyssa's usual indulgence--Swedish ice cream. This time she sampled lemon, melon, and blueberry.

Onto the town which was charming with its small town hall, shopping street, white church, and a public flower garden.  We bought a Swedish almanac, some fresh strawberries and blueberries, and enjoyed the less hectic pace.

Walking around we ran across a garage sale.  We found our favorite souvenir of our trip--a moonshine distiller shaped and lettered like an Absolut vodka bottle with "tongue in cheek wording" mimicking the tone of its famous export.  We paid $25 for it, it is fully working, and we imagine it'll make an appearance as a iced tea or lemonade dispenser at a future party.

Late that afternoon, we departed Mariefred for a scenic drive on the way back to Mälarbaden.

Because it was on the way, Alyssa drove us through Strängnas, the next town over from Eskilstuna to show Keith this town and to view the outside of its cathedral (it was too late to visit the inside).  Fashioned much like Mariefred, but larger, we enjoyed that we were able to leisurely make our way back for a delicious dinner upon our arrival back at the Normans' home.
