Undergrad

I went to school at Franklin & Marshall College, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania - only miles from home and blocks from the hospital in which I was born. Although accepted (even with scholarship offers) to other schools, I liked F&M's offerings and staff (even prior to choosing a major) and in spite of it being so close, I chose to go there following my graduation.

Besides meeting my wonderful and beautiful wife (which was without a doubt, worth it in itself), F&M set me on track with my academic persuits. Not sure what I wanted to major in (possibly art or literature) I took some philosophy and some religious studies classes and was hooked.

I really look back fondly at my time at F&M, finding my niche and really loving what I was studying (reading and researching being a reward in itself).

Several notable professors, to whom I give credit are as follows (in no particular order):

Stephan Käufer, Assocate Professor of Philosophy
David McMahon, Associate Professor of Religious Studies
Michael J. Murray, Professor of Philosophy (chair back in '99 - '03)
Stephen A. Cooper, Professor of Religious Studies (current chair)
Glenn Dyner, Visiting Professor of Judaic Studies (now at Sarah Lawrence College)

Actually, the order is based on when I met these gentlmen, so its only semi-arbitrary. They have all been invaluable to my intellectual and personal development and I would recommend study with them, or reading their publications (especially Murray).
